Walter Staveloz

Founder & President

Walter has over thirty years of experience in the science center/museum field. He created the science center of the University of Brussels and then became the first Executive Director of Ecsite (European network of science centers/museums). In that capacity, he obtained various EU grants including "PENCIL" building bridges between informal and formal science education. After more than 10 years he moved to the US to become the Director of International Relations at the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC). During his thirteen years at ASTC, he created IGLO (International action on global warming); represented the field at the Rio+20 Summit; initiated the International Science Center Day (ISCSMD) in partnership with UNESCO. After his career at ASTC, he became an international consultant for science centers and museums worldwide with "YesYouCanConsulting". He recently became a Fulbright Specialist in all matters related to capacity building and strategic planning for science centers and museums.
