I have over 20 years of not-for-profit leadership and senior management experience with specialization in the development and evaluation of informal learning programs/experiences as well as federal grants work from concept development through post-award management. As director of a revenue-generating department, I have developed and implemented business models, and I have extensive experience in financial management as well as leading and supervising teams. Even though I was based in a science center for many years, my professional experience reaches into different informal learning environments. Our research and evaluation center worked with zoos, gardens, arts organizations, and museums of all kinds on research, evaluation, and consulting projects from small, one-off events, to large, multi-year projects.
I have an MS in marketing and communications – with a special appreciation for audience development and market research – and a BS in business education. I also hold a current CITI certificate for human subjects protection/social and behavioral research.
I am currently a member of the AAM, the Society of Research Administrators (SRAI) and the Visitor Studies Association (VSA) as well as a former VSA board member.
