For the past 10 years, Katy has worked as a museum educator and is currently at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with the McClung Museum where she is Manager of Education & Community Engagement, Curator of Academic Programs, and a museum studies instructor in the School of Information Sciences and the School of Art. Prior to joining the museum field, she served as an arts administrator for a variety of goverment agencies and non-profits, worked as an independent curator, and taught college-level art courses.

Malone has a BS in Biology and Chemistry and an MFA in Studio Arts from Georgia State University. She has been a practicing artist for more than 25 years.
