After twenty years in the field of informal science education I’m full of ideas and ready for just about anything, but still ready to learn and develop new skills. Just this year I was thrilled to gain certification as a Certified Interpretive Guide from the National Association for Interpretation. I’ve built programs, exhibits, and activities from the ground up and have experience in field trip, afterschool and scouting programs as well as planning and running week-long day camps.
At the Cleveland Museum of Natural History I was part of a small team that welcomed roughly 25% of all Museum guests to the Smead Discovery Center, a dedicated hands-on science education room. We were responsible for designing and producing programs and activities related to Museum exhibits and seasonal events and strove to create accessible activities that support family learning. In support of these duties I have become proficient in creating year-end reports, graphic design, exhibits writing, budget management, and other administrative skills.
