I have nine years of curatorial work experience with exhibitions and collections in both national and international museums and university settings. I also oversaw three renovations of galleries (Japanese Art, South Asian Art and Iranian Art) in my museum positions. I have been interested in global contemporary art since 2010 and began incorporating contemporary Asian art and works of Asian American artists in my exhibitions from 2013.
I was responsible for providing curatorial oversight for over 7,000 objects covering China, Japan, Korea, India, and Iran from ancient to contemporary eras. I identified and implemented a rigorous rotation schedule for the four galleries dedicated to East Asian and Indian Art. I also conducted extensive research to identify conservation and storage needs and supervised numerous conservation projects through to completion across all media in my previous positions.
Additionally, I have been awarded several prestigious fellowships and opportunities, which have expanded and enhanced my knowledge in modern and contemporary art, including India, Turkey, and Korea. I was most happy to be awarded a fellowship to attend the Hamad bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic Art (2017), which helped to expand my cultural and artistic understanding of the contemporary world of Islamic art.
