I received my bachelor’s degree in art history from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I interned for one academic year with the IUP special collections. During this time I received training in PastPerfect collection management system, object handling in fragile artifacts, and object storage.
During my time as a master’s student in museum studies at the University of the Arts I interned at the Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum for 10 months where I was the sole archivist in charge of updating records in PastPerfect, handling object storage during a full location change, and completed research on donations. Also during this time I completed a summer fellowship with the Baltimore Museum of Art where I received training in CONTENTdm, updated their finding aids, and created a comparative analysis of various collection management systems such as Preservica and Archivematica in order for the BMA to gain more insight on creating dark repositories. My thesis work was a study on CMS usage in small Pennsylvania museums to benefit emerging professionals and to provide recommendations to struggling institutions.
As the Manager of Membership and Annual Giving I am responsible for overseeing a six digit budget and fulfilling that by managing the communication to over 1,500 members as well as securing donations from multi-level donors. I have also coordinated varying sizes of events.
