I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades in the museum world. With a background in anthropology, history, and film production, and a master's in museum studies from the George Washington University, my experience has been equally diverse. I've had the privilege to work on every step of the exhibition creation process, from thematic development all the way through to installation for private design firms and big institutions including the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the International Spy Museum, and most recently the Embassy of Sweden where I served as the events and exhibitions technical coordinator. My duties included coordinating and often the actual labor for the shipping, installation, maintenance, and management for a myriad of exhibits spanning topics including art, fashion, technology, music, and more. This also entailed the procurement of subcontractors, management of our guides, and the coordination of shipments (often international). The other half of my job involved planning, coordinating, and executing events of all kinds for the Embassy. Events included artist talks, table readings, concerts, conferences, discussion panels, opening galas, black tie balls, fundraisers, and my favorite, the Nobel Dinner where we hosted each year's American laureates before sending them off to Stockholm to accept their prizes.
