Jessica Grill is a lifelong learner and science communicator, specialising in nature play and environmental stewardship. She achieved her Master’s Degree in Biology from Miami University, with her Master’s thesis on encouraging social-emotional and STEM learning through play in natural spaces and/or with natural materials. As her graduate-level capstone project, she rebuilt the Pinelands Institute education program from the ground up, and within 3 years successfully pitched to have it become the official education and outreach program of the Whitesbog Preservation Trust. Jessica loves inspiring people of all ages to learn through play via hands-on outdoor exploration. In her spare time she is a traditional archer, an avid hiker, voracious reader, subversive cross-stitcher, and a level 4 Ranger-Bard.
