A conversation about UNESCO’s report: Museums Around the World in the Face of COVID-19

UNESCO recently published a study of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on museum attendance, budgets, and activities to assess the threats to the sector and its evolution in the next few years. MuseumExpert.org founder Walter Staveloz and report author Professor François Mairesse will discuss the main findings and explore future trends and decisions facing museum leaders and professionals. 

Professor Mairesse has expertise in foresight for the future of the museum field. He teaches museology and cultural economics at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, where he also holds the UNESCO Chair for the Study of Museum Diversity and Its Evolution. He also teaches museology at the Ecole du Louvre. He was formerly president of the International Committee for Museology of ICOM (ICOFOM). He is the author of several articles and books on museology.
